Pixie Bobs
Appearance
The Pixie-Bob is a domestic cat with the visual similarity to the North American Bobcat. They can be longhaired or shorthaired and have a spotted brown tabby coat. The head is an inverted pear-shape, with beautiful hooded eyes and a wide muzzle and large chin. Their Bobcat like face is irresistible. Their prominent chins and hooded eyes give this cat that special wild look. They have a heavy furrowed brow. The Pixie-Bob is most noted for their chops and ears. The chops are the tufts of long fur that project from the bottom of their cheeks. Their ears are large in proportion to the ears of other large breeds and often tipped with dark tufts of fur.

Male Pixie-Bobs weigh about 12-22 pounds, while the females weigh 8-12 pounds. Their body is stocky, solid and reminiscent of the Bobcat.

Distinguishing Features
The Pixie-Bob is intelligent, loves to walk on a leash, ride in a car, fetch, and even play in the water. They form strong bonds of companionship with humans. They will follow you from room to room like a loyal dog. They are often referred to as the dog in cats clothing. Pixie-Bobs can vary in their look. They can have a wooly coat that feels wild to the touch or a slightly longer silky seasonal coat. They can have either long or short hair. The long haired coats do not mat or snarl. Their coat is heavily ticked. Ticking is a dual-toned strand of hair - the majority of the strand is one color, but tipped with a second color.

The Feet
The feet are large, long, and almost round, with big knuckles and fleshy toes. Polydactyls are allowed for registration, with seven toes maximum. Approximately 50% of kittens are polydactyl.

The Tail
A straight, short tail measuring at least 2 inches in length is characteristic of the breed, however tails come in various lengths. Links and knots are acceptable. Short tails ranging from 1 inch to 6 inches full tails are not uncommon.

Eyes
The brow is prominent, heavy boning and bushy hair above the eyes, creating a hooded appearance. The eye color is gold to brown, wild gooseberry green is acceptable.

Health
The Pixie-Bob breed has no known health problems. However, Pixie-Bobs are extremely sensitive to vaccines. Use only 3-in-1 killed (Rhino, Calici, and Distemper), give rabies per State Law. Make sure your kitten/cat has plenty of fresh water, and use high quality food. Our cats are fed a raw diet, and we use homeopathic health care for them.

Personality
I've saved the best for last.....they may look like a small version of a wild Bobcat, but the Pixie-Bob is very cuddly, loving and loyal. They form strong bonds with their family. They are very intelligent and trainable. They love to walk on a leash or harness and are great with other pets and children. They love to play fetch and will play for hours.....be prepared to play.....even a crumpled piece of paper will do. Pixie-Bobs make great companions. They are a quiet cat using only an occasional chatter or chirp. You will have many years of joy and loyalty from your Pixie-Bob.
